University of Illinois INHS is hiring a Field Forester (Visiting Field Scientist) in southern Illinois. This job lasts for at least a year, likely two, and would be out of the IDNR office in Dixon Springs (though the person hired would also have the option to work out of the Fairfield office if they prefer). It is full time and includes full benefits. The job is funded through IDNR and NRCS, and the person hired will be working a lot with programs such as CRP tree plantings, EQIP, Forest Management Plans, mapping, prescribed burning, etc. Working with landowners will be an important component. Working outdoors and in the office will both be necessary. A Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or a related natural science is required. The person hired would be provided with a laptop, work truck, work phone. Applications are due September 21.
