{"id":75812,"date":"2014-08-22T14:05:14","date_gmt":"2014-08-22T14:05:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/logan-park.org\/?p=75812"},"modified":"2014-08-23T19:28:19","modified_gmt":"2014-08-23T19:28:19","slug":"extra-credit-opportunity-garden-of-the-gods-trail-cleanup-is-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/logan-park.org\/?p=75812","title":{"rendered":"Extra Credit Opportunity: Garden of the Gods trail cleanup is Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FYI, a volunteer cleanup event at Garden of the Gods plus Leave No Trace educational activities this weekend.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cGarden of the Gods trail cleanup is Saturday\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>August 21, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Join SIU Carbondale\u2019s Touch of Nature Environmental Center staff on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Garden of the Gods Recreation Center for a trail cleanup day.<\/p>\n<p>Touch of Nature is partnering with \u201cLeave No Trace for Outdoor Ethics\u201d for the event, which teaches people how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly. <strong>A carpool will leave the Student Center parking lot at 7:30 a.m<\/strong>.; the cleanup is from 9 a.m. to noon. Those interested in participating will meet in the main observation area parking lot. An information booth will be available from 1 to 5 p.m., and the Subaru\/Leave No Trace traveling trainers will hold a program from 6 to 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Participants should dress comfortably, bring water and a picnic lunch.
