Good morning SIU Forestry!
I hope all is well in Carbondale these days. I have some job opportunities for folks looking for recreation field work in a remote setting- please pass it on!
Are you tired of people? Looking for some solitude next summer? Come join a Wilderness Trail/Ranger Crew on the Krassel Ranger District! Our crews live at remote guard stations and work primarily in an 800,000-acre portion of the Frank Church – River of No Return Wilderness Area, the largest contiguous roadless area in the Lower 48. Expect nine-day backpacking trips with frequent crosscut saw use, trail maintenance work, mule packing, and a whole lot of sunsets!
Please see the attached outreach form- this year we’re advertising these jobs from 9/29-10/6.
Feel free to email me if you’re interested in learning more. Go Dawgs!
